A charming antique pine blanket chest dating to the mid-Victorian period, identified by its original penny end strap hinges. The chest features a flat top with metal handles at either end, making it easy to move and position. Inside, there is a candle box fitted to the left-hand side, complete with a small partition in the middle — a delightful original detail that speaks to the chest's age and character.

The lock is present but no longer functioning, as the mechanism appears to have been removed at some point. The chest has been finished in wax and is clean, tidy, and presented in excellent condition for its age, including a neat and well-kept back. The lid is supported by braces on the underside. While the chest feels solid and well-constructed, we would not recommend using it as a seat.
