A late 19th century pine flat top blanket chest in lovely clean condition, dating from c.1880. Recently stripped to the bare wood, ready for waxing or painting.

Original carrying handles on either side, in good order, and original strap hinges to the under-side of the lid. Inside the chest you will find a candle box, a typical feature of this time.

It is on block feet, raising it up off the floor slightly.

Nowadays these flat top chest's make a nice alternative to a coffee table, or side table. They can also be used as a shoe or toy box.
