Here’s a large pine ‘Bombe Base’ style linen press, a high-quality reproduction inspired by early East German designs. Although relatively modern, it closely follows the proportions and detailing of original antique examples.

The piece has a distinctive shaped front and an impressive carved top section, giving it a strong visual presence. The craftsmanship is very much in keeping with the originals.

Inside the top section, there is a fitted interior with partitions and a couple of small internal drawers. This internal arrangement can be removed if preferred, allowing for a more open space. There is also scope to add a shelf across the top section. If fully opened up, a hanging rail could be fitted, making it suitable for lighter garments such as shirts.

The base section features three drawers, all fitted with handles that are faithful to the original style.

For delivery, the top section dismantles while the base remains in one piece — so as long as the base fits through access points, the rest can be assembled in situ.

A striking and practical piece that combines traditional design with more recent construction.
