Large Victorian Pine Compactum (dismantles) (K0605Q)

from £2,250.00

Here’s an amazing Victorian pine Compactum (bedroom unit), some may refer to it as a housekeeper’s cupboard. It’s a substantial and very versatile piece of furniture with an impressive amount of storage.

On either side are two tall, full-height hanging sections, which mirror each other. Each provides generous hanging space with an internal depth of 19½", making it suitable for most clothing. One side currently has a cubby space where a drawer would originally have been fitted — this could potentially be recreated if desired, or simply used as additional open storage.

In the centre section, above the drawers, are cupboard doors with a shelf inside. Below are four drawers providing useful storage. The piece retains plenty of original character and detailing throughout.

The cupboard was originally painted but has been stripped and waxed at some point. It would benefit from a thorough clean and re-waxing, which can be done before delivery. A few small adjustments and catches will also be sorted out as needed. The central cupboard lock may also be matched with a suitable key.

For delivery, the unit separates into its main sections to make transport and access easier.
