Partly Glazed South Wales Painted Antique Pine Dresser (H4705D)

£600.00

Charming Old Pine Dresser in Original Paint – Code: H4705D

This lovely old pine dresser dates from the early 20th century and retains much of its original paint, giving it a warm, timeworn charm. The finish has been lightly scraped back in some areas, particularly at the back, revealing traces of the earlier layers beneath. It has great character and presence, making it a standout piece in any room.

The top features two glazed doors, each with a small side catch, enclosing useful storage space. In between the doors is an open-shelved display section—perfect for crockery, books, or decorative items. One small section (bottom left) of the back in the top has been partially painted white by a previous owner. While it's possible to scrape this back to reveal more of the original surface, repainting of all of the back may be a more practical solution. We're happy to discuss either approach with you, or even fully strip the whole dresser to bare wood if preferred.

The middle of the dresser includes a recessed open shelf, adding visual interest and extra storage. The base consists of three drawers above two cupboard doors, with another open space in between. Each cupboard includes a single internal shelf, and the drawers slide smoothly. The dresser stands on bracket feet and has a sturdy, balanced look.

Often referred to as a South Wales dresser—due to its style and regional origin—this piece blends functionality with rustic charm. The top section separates from the base for easier delivery.

The dresser is offered exactly as seen (in its original paint) for £600. Please let us know what restoration you’d like in regards to finish, and we can quote for this work. We're happy to accommodate any refinishing or restoration.

If you are considering buying the dresser in its current condition, we recommend giving us a call first so we can talk through any questions or adjustments you might want.

As you can see in the photos (pictured with and without): there are 2 small crowns on the top, which could be removed if required.
