Here’s a beautiful old pine chiffonier, likely late Victorian — possibly just edging into the Edwardian period. It would originally have been painted, but at some point it was stripped and waxed. It’s now in very nice condition for its age.

The piece has attractive curved sides, with a cupboard door on each side of the base. If it’s going into an alcove, just bear in mind that the doors will require a little extra clearance to open fully. Inside each cupboard is a single shelf.

The base section has drawers that slide smoothly, and above sits the top section with four small drawers. The top can separate from the base for delivery, making it easier to transport.

At present, there are magnetic catches fitted near the bottom of the doors, which work perfectly well, though they could be repositioned higher up if you’d prefer a tidier look.

Overall, it’s a very handsome and practical piece with plenty of character. It’s almost ready to go — just one small job to finish off before collection or delivery.
