Here’s a very useful and practical pine sideboard, or wide cupboard, dating from around the 1930s.

It’s a well-designed piece with three separate cupboard sections, each with a drawer above. The central section is slightly deeper and stepped forward, and also features ventilation grilles on the front, indicating it was originally made as a larder cupboard.

Each cupboard has its own internal shelf, and the sections are fully partitioned, so they do not run through from side to side. The drawers are fitted with metal cup handles and all slide smoothly.

The piece is in a wax finish. The main body is in good condition, though the top has some surface blemishing. This can be improved by cleaning back the existing wax and re-waxing, which should bring it much closer in tone to the rest of the piece. This can be discussed depending on your preference.

Keys will be supplied for all three locks (currently one is present, with others to be sourced).

A very functional piece with plenty of storage and character.
