Here we have an impressive antique pine storage cupboard, often referred to as a campaign cupboard or fire safe. These are wonderfully practical pieces, made up of three separate stacked sections, giving both flexibility and presence.

The cupboard consists of three individual units that sit one on top of the other, making it much easier to transport and position compared to a single large piece. It features panelled sides, with lovely reeded detailing running above and below the door panels, and a shaped cornice at the top. It likely dates from the 1920s and appears to retain its original character throughout.

Each of the three sections has 2 cupboard doors, with a shelf inside, set on adjustable supports, so the layout can be easily altered. The shelves can also be removed if required. All catches are working nicely, and there is a key for each lock.

Originally, these pieces would have had carrying handles on the sides — you can still see the marks where they once were. Replacement handles could potentially be sourced and fitted if desired.

A large and very practical storage unit with plenty of character and versatility.
