Here’s a large antique pine mule chest, dating from the late 1800s — a lovely traditional piece with plenty of character.

It features a lift-up lid with its original strap hinges at the back and a spacious interior for storage. Below are two small drawers, each fitted with wooden knobs (likely later replacements), and both running smoothly.

The chest is in very nice condition for its age. It was originally painted and has since been stripped back to bare wood, giving it a clean, natural look. The back is panelled and still shows some traces of the original paint, which could be cleaned up further if desired.

A very practical and versatile piece, ideal for blankets, linens, or general storage.
